Tough Girl, LLC | Tough Girl Tutus®

It's only appropriate to start the first of our monthly Tough Girl Tutus giveaways on Tu-Tu-2014!

Each month we'll give away a Tough Girl Tutus racing tutu or Tough Girl Tutus product to one lucky winner.

Enter the giveaway contest by telling us (in the comments below) how many miles you ran last week, and what keeps you motivated throughout the winter. With a huge winter storm hitting the Rocky Mountains this past week, it seems we spent all our free time shoveling snow! We are needing some extra motivation from you to get out there and get our miles in. Winner will receive one Tough Girl Tutus tutu, valued at $29.99.

Sweepstakes is open to those over 18 and residents of United States and Canada. It begins on 2/2/14 and ends on 2/9/14; the winners will be announced on 2/12/14. Winner will be selected randomly and notified via email. One entry per person. The value of each prize is $29.99. Tough Girl Tutus product subject to availability. The number of eligible entries received determines the odds of winning. Void where prohibited by law.

Nichol:

Walked about 2 miles……too cold& icey here for much more. Ready for spring training weather!!!!

Ashley brown:

20 miles for me last week! My running club motivates me. When one of us is not wanting to run due to snow, the others encourage. We are a tight knit family and don’t let winter scare us away.

Jenn:

About 15 I’m still in training for my Princess 1/2 marathon!! It’s coming up quick!!!

Winter in Chicago has been insane this year, and has made consistent running
super difficult! I joined a roller derby workout class to keep me going. Studies have shown that skating is incredibly similar to running. Last week I skate/ran 5 miles. And i am terrified of rollerskating. I am doin something new to keep my running fresh for spring. And I wear my tutu :)

Donna G:

Got in 11.5 miles, still recovering from the WDW Marathon plus we got hit with the snow/ice storm here in GA. Actually hit the trails for the first time at a park I run the paved trails all the time. It was a nice change and very pretty; had some icy patches still but also some snow to run on, which is very rare for this southern girl! Right now the motivation is actually just enjoying no training regimen at the moment since the marathon is done. I do have a Half in late March but will start to focus on that in the next week or so.

Darcy Forsell:

I ran a single 18 mile run last week in preparation for the napa valley marathon in one month! I usually do at least one half marathon each winter so that keeps me motivated to train. This year and last year I also did/am doing a full marathon.
I am in California where we are in a drought and some of my runs in january were in 60-70F temps with no rain all month! So the weather is no excuse not to run!

February 02 2014

Julie Wood:

I ran 19 miles last week! I’m motivated by my goal to run 1200 miles in 2014. Plus I just signed up for a half marathon that will happen in March! Thank you for a great giveaway!

Maggie Fjetland :

15 treadmill miles. Come on spring!!! 25 below zero squashes outdoor runs and I am needing to stretch my legs! ;)

February 02 2014

Shelley Thams:

I ran 17.5 miles last week. I stay motivated by running with a group. When the alarm goes off and it is dark and cold outside, it is easy to say I don’t want to go. But then I remember I have friends that will be meeting me to run. It is my only “my time” during the day.

February 02 2014

Katie:

Last week I let life get in the way, today I’m starting the week with 5. Here’s to fresh starts!

February 02 2014

Judy:

Gave my body a well deserved 2 week break after the Disney Full Marathon. I ran 10.5 miles this week: 3 outside during my sons soccer practice, 3 on the treadmill during the snow days of Atlanta and 4.5 with my dog at the park trying not to fall on the ice especially if a bird was anywhere near. Very adventurous!

February 02 2014

Kellie Merrill:

I am not sure how many miles I ran. I am training for a Tri and the program measures minutes not distance. I ran for over an hour. Right now just focusing on building endurance.

February 02 2014

Cyndie Nell:

I’m on week 5 of a 20 week training plan for a marathon. I did 26 miles last week.

February 02 2014

Hannah:

I ran 13 miles last week. I run with a local training group to keep me moving through the winter months. Long group runs are so much fun even in below freezing temps.

February 02 2014

Michelle O:

30 miles for me! :-) my running partners keep me motivated and sane. I’m a volunteer coach and admin for a military spouses running group. Each day at least one of our husbands is deployed or training out to see. Sticking together helps not only with running, but for strength to carry on through each day.

February 02 2014

katye:

I think I ran somewhere around 20 miles last week.
there’s a few things that keep me motivated. my journey towards a healthier lifestyle.
the amount of stress relief it gives me. and the desire to get stronger, faster. and being that ridiculous girl who will pile on the layers and run even when it’s ten degrees outside.

February 02 2014

Missy:

Just started running again after having twins. Only 7 miles this week but at least I’m getting back out there!

February 02 2014

Jenn Bell :

I am training for a spring marathon, which is my motivation to run even when the weather is terrible in the northeast. 56.63 miles logged this week. I also have a great running friend who keeps me going when my motivation is low. Sometimes it helps to remind myself of how far I have come in my journey to becoming a fit mom.

February 02 2014

Lynn Greco:

28kms….In ice/snow/wind winter running has been even harder this year in Ontario, Canada…so many ice storms and below -20 weather. My run club and the fact I’ve signed up for a March 2nd half keeps me going.

February 02 2014

Meg B. :

I ran 20mi last week in unseasonable cold Atlanta weather. I am motivated by my 3 and 7 year old daughters, for whom I am trying to set a healthy example! {My increasing muscle tone is also motivation :)}

February 02 2014

Anna Shafer:

I got 10 miles in last week – and am about to get in 6 today!

February 02 2014

Lisa McGuire:

11.2 miles total outside and a little over 10 miles on the elliptical this past week, Training for the AMR Prove It Half Marathon in May, and wanting to be bigger and stronger then all my excuses (too cold, too dark, too wet, too tired, too “fill in the blank”).

February 02 2014

Kellie Whitebread:

I ran/walked 33 miles this week and staying healthy is my biggest motivation. I have lost 87 lbs in last year.

Helen:

12 miles this week (3 were treadmill). I’m training for a half marathon in May & also just overall want to get healthy & lose some weight.

February 02 2014

Darcy:

18 miles in last week. I need deadlines and solid training plans! I’ve been working on a sub-65 minute 10K plan, and I hate to see the sad face on my app if I miss a run. I’ve got a 10K in March, and a half marathon in April.

February 02 2014

Jacqueline:

Just getting ready for the color run up at copper mountain in April and gaining momentum and motivation for another fantastic Bolder Boulder!!! Tutus make it all that much more awesome;-)

February 02 2014

Juliet:

I ran 15 miles last week, mostly on the weekend – it’s been cold and icy here, so it’s hard to take my son on runs in the jogging stroller or even to go by myself without slipping on neighborhood sidewalks. I’m training for my first half marathon in March and fundraising for Girls on the Run through the SoleMates program, so my training program is motivating me to prepare myself and do my best for the girls!

February 02 2014

Leah F. :

This past week I ran 5 miles. I live in the South and we had a rare ice storm. So must of my week was confined to indoors with no gym access (it was closed because of the weather). But no worries, it’s 70 degrees today and will be in the 60s-70s all week. I am planning to stay motivated by having a race on my calendar to get ready to run-Rock N Roll Dallas-and by listening to new Another Mother Runner podcast!

February 03 2014

Wendi:

Ran about 17 last week – even some in the rare snow that we get around here. I am motivated because I have a fabulous group of ladies to run with – we wear our tutus and do mud runs. Next up we have a 200 mile relay planned for the end of March!

February 03 2014

Sue B:

I ran 14 miles last week. I am motivated to run my first half marathon of 2014 on my b-day in May. Running helps me battle depression by the release of endorphins and the feeling I’ve accomplished something.

February 03 2014

Cyndie:

The hardest week of my life… ZERO miles on the road and with my girlfriends. Suffering from some nasty Plantar Faciitis, so I got my butt in the POOL and RAN TWICE! :-) I’ll be back… stronger I hope. :-)

February 03 2014

Nicole:

Only ran 8 last week on the treadmill. Just trying to maintain over the winter in NH. Last year, I ran my first half-marathon. This year I am hoping to run my very first full marathon. I stay motivated by signing up for fun races with my running buddy.

February 06 2014

Janelle:

Ran 17 miles, building back up after a rest post marathon. I keep running in the winter as I know how hot it will be in just a short time.

February 08 2014

Rosalie:

I ran 23 miles (3 runs) last week. I am running my first full marathon in May and I feel like I can’t miss a run no matter what the weather is like if I want to stay on track with my training. I’ve run in negative 15 and actually once I get going, kind of prefer the cold—when running I am only cold for the first couple of minutes! It’s better than the hot summer runs and there is such beauty in running in the snow!

February 08 2014

Erica:

28.4 miles!
I’m staying motivated with 3 half marathons this spring and the Chicago marathon this fall! Where we will be sporting our leopard tutus with our diabetes in action tanks!!

February 08 2014

Doris:

17.8! Ran my first 1/2 marathon at Huntington Beach. Hoping to complete the surf city challenge this year!! :)

February 08 2014

Cyndie Nell:

28 miles for me this week. I’m on week 6 training for a marathon. I stay motivated knowing that race day could have ran or snow so might as well run in it on training day.

February 09 2014

Christine Cohne:

I ran 7 miles last week! Just starting to hit the pavement after injuries with the motivation of running a half marathon in April. Our team is inspired by a friend who is beating breast cancer and wants to cross that finish line in the name of Health and Living!
